With such a busy season, Madrid needs all of its players to be fit and rearing to go. Unfortunately, their biggest ever signing, Gareth Bale is out due to an ankle injury. The Doctor’s words

Back in October 2013, Spanish Doctor Dr. Avelino Parejon said that the Madrid club erred in signing Bale for such a huge amount. Gareth Bale was suffering from a disc protrusion at the time of these comments by Dr. Parejon. He said “If Real Madrid have signed Gareth Bale knowing about this protrusion, they have committed an error. That is not to say that tomorrow it can be operated on and he can continue playing, like has happened many times.”

“But if he already has problems with protruding discs, that indicates it is not a one off. When a person has those problems at that age, it suggests that he has a great possibility of suffering herniated discs and symptoms arising from that overtime. It is a bad sign for any athlete.”

How it affects Gareth Bale’s future

The Welshman has not had it easy since moving to the Bernabéu in September 2013. He had a late debut because of the above mentioned disc protrusion and has not reached the highs of his first season. The end of last season saw Bale come into his own as he became Madrid’s main man due to Ronaldo’s injury concerns. This was supposed to be the season that Bale would produce consistent match winning performance for the Los Blancos. But, the 27 year old has started just 17 league games for Madrid. Persistent injury issues can harm his career in Madrid.
