Barcelona and Man Utd target Antoine Griezmann makes a decision on his future

Barcelona target Antoine Griezmann

Atletico Madrid hitman Antonie Griezmann has decided to commit his future to Barcelona

The French hitman stayed with the Rojiblancos in the summer amidst serious interest from Manchester United. Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban led to Griezmann announcing that he will stay as the club failed to bring any replacement for the France International. However, United’s interest in the player hasn’t dwindled yet and they are still in pursuit of the player.

It is reported that Mourinho will be presented with a huge budget, in order to bring his targets to Old Trafford. But the red devils may have to look for an alternative of the France International. That’s because El Gol Digital claims that the player has agreed to join Barcelona.

The reports say Atletico are open to all the offers for the player. However, the club will accept offers only from the sides which agree to loan Griezmann back to Madrid for the remaining part of the season. Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has already reached an agreement with the Madrid based club.

As Atletico’s transfer embargo is set to lift next month, they will welcome Diego Costa back to the club. The Spanish International can fill Griezmann’s boots as the main striker.

Costa will be all set to make his return on 3rd January again Lleida in the Cops Del Rey’s quarter-final.

Author’s Take-

I feel the player will be doing a right thing by committing his future with Barcelona. His arrival at the club will give Ernesto Valverde a greater range of options in attack. Griezmann will give Valverde a variety of options to utilize him correctly.

As of now, Dembele’s injury sees Barcelona using a 4-4-2 formation. However, with Dembele being fit and Griezmann arriving at Camp Nou, Barcelona can use a 3-3-1-3 formation, which will surely yield results. A 3-3-1-3 will give Barcelona strength in midfield, creative combinations in attack and balanced defence at the back.
