IPL 2022 Live: With 285 runs in 13 matches, Karthik is RCB’s second-highest run-scorer in IPL 2022. The majority of these runs have come at the tail of the innings as he has placed lower down the order. The seasoned wicketkeeper-batsman has served as the finisher for his team.
Karthik has an average of 57.00 in IPL 2022, with eight unbeaten innings to his name. His strike rate, on the other hand, is even more impressive of a feat. The veteran batter has a phenomenal strike rate of 192.57.
With such figures, it’s no surprise that Karthik is being spoken about getting a call-up to the Indian team. Harbhajan Singh, the former Indian off-spinner, is the latest to back Karthik in that regard.
“For RCB, Dinesh Karthik has been terrific. He is better at leg side strokes than off sides, and he is great at taking singles, but I believe he understands his game well overall,” Harbhajan remarked during the Gameplan episode on Star Sports. Bhajji further claimed that Karthik ensures to complete the game whenever he has the last opportunity. Dinesh Kartik, in his opinion, has performed the best finisher role in the entire IPL.

I Would Have Handed Him a Ticket to the WC T20 in Australia if I Were the Selector – Harbhajan
Harbhajan claimed that would give Karthik a ticket to the World Cup T20 in Australia if he was the selector. He said he will allow him to play wicketkeeper and batsman for India because he deserves it. In his own words, Karthik and Pandya will form a formidable duo in need of finishers. He believes that Karthik should get the chance to bat a little earlier. According to Bhajji, he should be able to finish the game in 15 to 16 overs.
Nevertheless, RCB will be hoping Karthik continues to get the job done for the team towards the business end of the tournament. It’s about time they finally re-establish their pursuit for the maiden IPL title.
