Eden Hazard has always been public about moving away from Chelsea and the Belgian has thrown some more light involving Manchester United in a recent interview.
Almost every year, there is speculation about Eden Hazard leaving Chelsea. And promptly, the Belgian gives an interview speaking about Real Madrid and its pull. But the move hasn’t materialised…..just yet. Yet again Hazard has come out and talked about his admiration of the Royal Whites. But this time he also had something to say about Zidane and Manchester United!
Real Madrid speculation
“I have won everything in England, apart from the Community Shield, but that doesn’t mean that I’m leaving. I have always said that I wanted to explore something different after England. But there are also things that might make me stay.”
“Would I like to sign for Real Madrid? Why not? Real Madrid without Zidane is different, but it is still Real Madrid.”
Possible Manchester United move
Asked by France Football if he’d be tempted to move to United should they appoint Zidane, Hazard responded, “I have never heard from (Zinedine) Zidane and if he goes to Manchester United tomorrow, for example, I would not be there.”
His relationship with managers
“I didn’t only frustrate Conte,” he said. “In my career, I’ve frustrated all my coaches. And here, Sarri, I still frustrate him. [Jose] Mourinho, I frustrated him. They think I need to score more, to do more here, more of that. The next one I have, I’ll frustrate him, too.”
On how he is different from the rest of the world’s elite
“I may be apart from the best players in the world. The best think goals, passes, trophies. I’ve never been like that. So, yes, maybe,” he said.“In professional football, there are a lot of players like me, who want to have fun.”
Hazard’s contract situation
The Blues are keen to keep their talisman despite him openly admitting his willingness to leave last summer. According to Goal, the club have already tabled a 5-year deal earlier this summer and it is still open if he decides to stay. The contract will see him become the highest paid player in the club’s history with a wage on upwards of £300k per week.
With his contract due to expire in 2020, Maurizio Sarri has also insisted that he wants the attacker to sign on the dotted line. “I want Eden here, of course, but I only want him here if he wants to stay here,” the Italian told reporters. “I know that there are discussions between the club and Eden’s agent every week, so if something new comes up the club will call me immediately.”
Hazard moving clubs seems inevitable. The Belgian has spoken about it time and time again and was very close to leaving last summer. Real Madrid might be gearing up for some change and he will be at the forefront of it. This would also mean that Chelsea would have to revamp their entire forward line in one window. One can only hope things turn out well in the end for Sarri and his men.
