Catalan giants FC Barcelona are off to a flying start in La Liga. The Blaugrana have now won seven of their last eight outings in the Spanish League.
They have currently gathered 22 points from these first 8 matches and are at the top of the table ahead of defending champions Real Madrid on goal difference.
Things however have not been the same in the UEFA Champions League. Despite a big victory against Viktoria Plzen in their first match, the Blaugrana lost their last two matches. The first came against Bayern Munich at Allianz in a frustrating game where they failed to score after creating many big opportunities. Then they lost against Inter Milan at San Siro in a match that saw many unfortunate decisions.
The Blaugrana will once again face Inter Milan tonight in one of the most important matches of the season. However, before that let’s take a look at how they can line up against the Nerazzurri.
Barcelona Starting Eleven against Inter Milan

Because of the absence of many players in defense, Barcelona gaffer Xavi will most probably start with a 3-4-3 diamond formation.
German goalkeeper Marc Andre ter-Stegan is expected to keep his place in the starting lineup. After getting back his form, the German has been really good throughout this season. Once again he will have to be at his best to get the best result out of this tie.
With Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, and Andreas Christiansen all being injured, veteran centre-back Gerard Pique will be given a start at the heart of the defense. The former Spanish international will be partnered by Eric Garcia on the right side and Marcos Alonso on the left.
Ahead of the three-man backline, Sergio Busquets will play as the defensive screen. The Barcelona captain will have a huge role in shielding the three-man defense and as well as creating chances with his playmaking.
In front of Busquets, Gavi and Frenkie De Jong will form a pivot. Both the Barcelona midfielders will have to operate as the pressing agent. They will also have to cover the wide areas during the defensive phase.
Young midfielder Pedri will play at to tip of the diamond. He will be given the no.10 role and freedom to construct Barcelona’s attacks. His creativity and technical ability are a necessity for Barca in this match.
Now Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha will play on the wings while Robert Lewandowski will have the duty to lead Barcelona’s attack. The trio will have to be at their best and show clinical best in front of the goal.
