How Thierry Henry went from fan favourite to being nearly sacked!

The former Monaco player is suspended from the club.

When Thierry Henry was elected as manager of Monaco there was a hope that the club will be saved from relegation. It seemed an iconic moment when the former Monaco player was elected as the manager. However, things have changed drastically. The positive environment was converted into a catastrophe moment and Theirry Henry is suspended from the club. Henry has just managed four wins and this has put the club in 19th position. All of this has led to Henry nearly sacked.

Thierry Henry humiliated and annoyed his players while Monaco boss, it has been revealed. The Frenchman, 41, was suspended as Les Rouges et Blancs manager on Thursday after leading the Ligue 1 giants to just four wins in 20 games with a goal difference of negative 21. Monaco currently sit second bottom in France’s top tier. A startling fall from when they were crowned Ligue 1 champions in 2017. A statement from the club was released on Thursday, announcing the news of Henry’s suspension. It read, “Monaco have decided to suspend Thierry Henry from his role as first-team coach from today until a final decision is made. (Assistant coach) Franck Passi will take training this Friday.”

It is expected the Arsenal legend will be dismissed permanently in a matter of days. But it appears things were even worse than first feared. Anonymous Monaco players have now revealed how Henry annoyed the players with his attitude and even humiliated one of their team-mates. An anonymous Monaco player told Goal France, “A few matches ago. He screamed, “He, he is supposed to be worth €10m? All of the substitutes heard. The message he sent to the players was very negative. ” Another source close to Monaco’s first-team added, “He would speak badly to the players, it is a fact. He would also make examples of people and that annoyed a lot of people. He gave this haughty impression as if he would not consider anyone else’s opinion.”

Author’s Take:

It seems football pundits are having bad time in handling teams. Gary Neville had a torrid time at Valencia and now it seems Henry is suffering from same as well. However, it’s not the result that has got him suspended but it’s his attitude that got in trouble. The attitude is disrespectful and let’s hope Henry learns from his mistake.
