The latest schedule put forth by Chris Jericho’s band Fozzy, confirms that Y2J will miss the next year’s edition of Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
Jericho will not mark his presence at the 30th anniversary of the Royal Rumble due to his European tour commitments with Fozzy. A tweet posted by Fozzy announcing their spring tour establishes that “The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla” will miss WrestleMania since they are scheduled to culminate their tour on the same day at Hampton Beach.
Here is the tweet depicting Fozzy’s spring tour schedule:

The conclusion of the tour leaves some mystery, as it implies that Chris Jericho might return to the infamous post WrestleMania shows.
Jericho’s last appearance was on the July 25th of SmackDown in a surprise return, which later turned out to be a one-time appearance. He faced his former best friend, Kevin Owens and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles for the United States Championship.
Chris Jericho held the United States Championship during his recent WWE run
Jericho is currently scheduled to face “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on 4th January in a much-anticipated match dubbed as “Alpha vs. Omega”. This would mark Jericho’s first wrestling venture outside WWE in 18 years.
Ever since his involvement towards the band he formed, Jericho has been negotiating short-term deals with the WWE. Jericho’s last run with the company was better than most people anticipated. He found success by playing a heel as well as a face. His “friendship” angle alongside Kevin Owens was the lone bright spot on RAW several times.
The WWE Universe have terribly missed Jericho ever since his departure. He was one of the characters who could lift the momentum of the entire show. Jericho’s commitment towards Fozzy is understandable as it has been his childhood dream. It would be interesting to see how the WWE books the 9-time Intercontinental Champion upon his return. It is certain that the WWE Universe will embrace Jericho back with open arms.
