English Premier League club Chelsea’s Head Coach Maurizio Sarri is a superstar in itself as the Blues have begun their English Premier League campaign on a positive note.
A lot has been talked about Chelsea since they appointed Maurizio Sarri, who replaced Antonio Conte at the helm of the club this summer, and the former Napoli coach has not yet given his criticizers a chance to shoot as Chelsea have already registered 4 victories from 4 games so far this season.
Sarri has implemented a possession-based football system at Chelsea and it has helped the Blues dominate and outplay their opponents. Before Sarri joined Chelsea, he coached Napoli. Last season, his side was close to clinching the Serie A title and it looked like they would Juventus’ unquestioned dominance in Italy. But, Max Allegri’s side eventually emerged as champions and continued their dominance. Sarri was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at the helm of Napoli.
The 59 year old has wished Ancelotti success and claimed that Napoli fans deserve to win a Scudetto. He went on to say, “I found out of Ancelotti’s appointment at Napoli from the Tv while I was at dinner with one of Giuntoli’s [Napoli’s sporting director] staff members. We were discussing my future, if I stayed or not. I don’t know why I am not at Napoli anymore, ask the club.
Now I am at Chelsea and I’m happy about it. The release clause in my contract with Napoli expired on May 31st, but De Laurentiis appointed Ancelotti on the 21st. I hope Ancelotti can succeed where I failed, the city and the supporters deserve to win the Scudetto”
Sarri also revealed his desire to stay and coach at Stamford Bridge for a long time. He said, “Here [football] is totally different, it’s a celebration. It’s great to see supporters of opponent teams meet to have a beer together before the game.
Finishing my career at Napoli could be a goal of mine, but first I want to stay here at Chelsea, a fantastic club, for a very long time. Everything it’s amazing here, there’s nothing I don’t like about it. Being the coach of this team is like a dream”
