ICC All-Time ODI Rankings: Pakistan captain Babar Azam once again lets his numbers speak for himself as this time he crossed a huge milestone in the history of cricket. To be specific, Babar Azam has crossed legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar in the ICC All-time ODI rankings.
The talented right-hander scored 390 runs in the Test series this year against Australia. Moreover, the total included a record-smashing innings of 196 in the second Test to steal a draw. Similarly, Babar showcased the same exclusive form in the ODI series as well.
Besides that, the skipper scored back-to-back hundreds for his country helping them clinch the ODI series by a 2-1 margin at home. By doing so, Babar Azam has crossed a name which is often described by many the ‘God of cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar.
Tendulkar was 15th on the ICC All-Time ODI Rankings list with 887 rating points. Sir Viv Richards on the first spot with 935. Former India skipper Virat Kohli still has a huge leap of Babar as he sits sixth on the panel with 911 rating points. After surpassing Tendulkar and talking about the series against Australia, Babar said “You need confidence after losing the first game. The credit goes to the players as they took responsibility and showed good efforts with the ball and the bat. When you get early wickets, there is pressure on the opposition,”

Babar Azam has represented Pakistan cricket team in 40 Tests, 86 ODIs and 74 T20Is. Notably, he has scored 2851 runs in Tests, 4261 runs in ODIs and 2686 runs in the shortest format of the game. In fact, he has scored 6 centuries, 21 fifties in Tests, 18 fifties and 16 centuries in ODIs. On the other hand, he hit 1 century, 26 fifties in the truncated version of the game. He has a batting average of 46 in Tests, 59.2 in ODIs and 45.5 in T20Is.
