ICC Rankings 2022: Imam-ul-Haq led Pakistan to a 3-0 ODI series victory over the West Indies at home, a performance that saw him leapfrog Virat Kohli in the ICC Rankings.
Previously, the southpaw was ranked third, behind his captain Babar Azam and the former India captain. After a strong home series, he is four points ahead of Kohli at number two, a career-high.
Kohli, who was only two points below Babar in the standings, is currently in third place with 811 points, slightly ahead of India’s current ODI captain Rohit Sharma. India last played an ODI series at home against the West Indies in February and will return to the format in July with a three-match ODI series in England.
Babar Azam maintained his position as the number one ODI batsman by scoring a century and a half-century in the first and second ODIs in Multan, respectively.

Even though Afridi only took three wickets in the West Indies series, he was Pakistan’s joint leading wicket-taker in the previous home series against Australia, with nine scalps. In August, Pakistan will play the Netherlands in an ODI series.
Zeeshan Maqsood of Oman has climbed into the top ten all-rounder rankings after a strong showing in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
ICC Rankings 2022: Pakistan Shines Under Babar Azam’s Captaincy
The Pakistan Cricket Squad’s ODI Rankings have improved under the captaincy of Babar Azam, who has led by example for the team in all formats of the game.
With his century against the West Indies in the first match, Babar Azam became the first hitter to score three consecutive ODI hundreds twice, having already done so in 2016.
Babar Azam broke the global record for most consecutive 50+ scores (9) in men’s international cricket across all forms with a fifty in the second ODI.
