IND vs AUS: The forthcoming edition of the T20 World Cup is less than a month away from getting underway. Meanwhile, teams from across the world are a bit busy playing as many T20Is to get geared up for the main event.

These fixtures will prove to be a huge learning curve for the players. It will surely help them avoid the shortcomings when they approach the bigger picture in Australia next month.

Meanwhile, the Men in Yellow, the defending champions of T20 World Cup have arrived in India to play three-match Twenty20 Internationals.

The first of the three-match T20I series will kick off on September 20 (Tuesday) at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. The second and third T20I will kick off on September 23 and 25 respectively.

The second game will kick off at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. On the other hand, the third and final T20I will begin at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Both teams have enough firepower to beat the other. As a result, we can expect one heck of a contest. Rohit Sharma’s team have been performing really well in T20Is except for the blips in Super 4 stage of Asia Cup.

IND vs AUS: Steve Smith to bat at No.3 in Mitchell Marsh’s absence for India T20Is

Meanwhile, in the latest development, it’s been confirmed that Steve Smith will come out to bat at No.3 in Mitchell Marsh’s absence for the T20I series.

Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the T20I series against India due to injury. The other players who are unavailable for India T20Is are David Warner and Marcus Stoinis.

Australia will approach the T20I challenge without three top players. Australia’s T20I captain Aaron Finch said, Smith will mostly bat at No.3.

“Most likely he’ll bat at three in this series with Mitch Marsh being out. We know the quality that Steve Smith’s got,” Aaron Finch said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the first T20I against India.

“He’s one of the best players that has ever played the game over all formats of the game. So we know the skill that he’s got and the game sense and the tactical nous that he’s got,” Finch added.

Steve Smith has represented the national cricket team in 57 T20Is. The 33-year-old failed to bring the best out of himself in this particular format. He scored 928 runs at an average of 26.5, scoring 4 half-centuries.
