IND vs NZ Live: Indian team are looking to win the second test match against New Zealand. If they rake up the win, the men in blue will go to the first rank in the test championship.
Indian captain Virat Kohli went on to win the toss and he elected to bat first. It was an excellent decision from the Indian captain as it would get very difficult to bat on the Day four and five.
However, the Indian team got off to a beautiful start as they went on to put up a good score in the beginning. Both Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal put up a crucial partnership of 80 runs for the first wicket.
But things went very bad for the men in blue as they lost three consecutive wickets. Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli were gone put quickly. And India became 80/3 in no time. Both Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara were gone for a duck in the first innings.
However, Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer put up an 80 runs partnership. This gave some cushion to the Indian team against New Zealand. Moreover, Mayank Agarwal went on to hit 150 runs on the first wicket.
As a result of that, the men in blue went on to score 325 runs in the first innings. Moreover, this is an above par score on the Wankhede pitch. India will be happy with the score they have put against New Zealand in the first innings.
IND vs NZ Live: Pragyan Ojha takes dig at umpire Virender Sharma
The Indian umpiring has been bizarre throughout the New Zealand tour of India. And this has been the case with the Indian umpires. They are not anywhere near the quality to be in the ICC’s umpire panel.
A similar situation took place on Day 1 of the India vs New Zealand test match. Indian captain Virat Kohli was given out through LBW despite nicking the ball through his bat.
The third umpire Virender Sharma had constant look at different frames. But he still went on to give out. Moreover, this was an unfair decision against Virat Kohli which also went on to show the standard of umpiring.
However, there has been a major uproar against Virender Sharma on social media. Even Pragyan Ojha took a sly dig at third umpire Virender Sharma for the unfair decision against Indian captain Virat Kohli.
He took to the twitter app to present his opinion on the whole issue. Moreover, Pragyan Ojha wrote, “#VirenderSharma bhool Gaye ki Duniya main Sirf Ek #virendersehwag…. Who’s boldness we love! #ViratKohli #IndvsNZtest”
However, the BCCI should seriously look into this issue. They are the richest cricket board in the world and it is high time that the BCCI should invest in the infrastructure for better umpiring standards in India.
