He has scored 2612 runs in 51 Test matches since making his debut. He has also scored 722 runs in 19 ODIs and 501 runs in 21 T20I matches. The ability to deliver in every format is a rare thing to accomplish. even for seasoned veterans. Bavuma emerged as a captaincy candidate due to his continuous performance for the team. “I would like to play there (in the IPL). The stronger my performances, the more realistic the opportunity becomes. I’ve also developed this fantasy of captaining a team,” Bavuma told Cricket Monthly.
The 32-year-old admitted that he had no idea where his desire to lead a team hails from. He asserted his desire to have that same experience. However, he noted that before that can happen, he needs to join a team first.
Prior to the first game, the Bavuma-led team arrived in Delhi. On June 9 (Thursday), the match will take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. India will look to extend their winning streak to 12 T20Is and set a new world record. Meanwhile, South Africa will prepare to face the world’s best T20I team and end their winning streak.
The last time the two teams played was in a three-match Test series and three-match ODI series. Both series were won by South Africa in 2-1 and 3-0, respectively.

The Protease skipper also spoke about Marco Jansen, who performed brilliantly. In his own words, Alden and the younger players, including Dewald Brevis, did well. According to him, Brevis is an exciting prospect for cricket. He stated that it was nice to see the guys playing in the IPL.
