IND VS SL: Cricket is the most loved and popular sport in the world. More than the players, fans celebrate and enjoy the spirit of cricket. It not only unites players but also their fans. We got a lively glimpse of this feeling during the second T20 at Dharamsala between India and Sri Lanka.
India is in a commanding position currently after having demolished the Caribbean at home. They extended the same performance against their neighbor, Sri Lanka as well in the first T20I as well. Having won the first T20 in style, all eyes were on how would Sri Lanka aim to retaliate.
Sri Lanka did bring out their best performance with the bat in the second T20. The start was rather slow, and no one imagined a total of 183 onboard with the initial proceedings. However, the visitors had a plan in mind already.
Dharamsala is popular for its batting pitches, any score below 180 would be easily achievable. With this frame of mind, Sri Lankan skipper, Dasun Shanaka decided to take matters into his own hands towards the end of the innings.

IND VS SL: Dasun Shanaka plays a valiant knock towards the end of Sri Lankan innings
He started off rather slow in his first over at the crease. However, he started his fireworks right from the 16th over by Harshal Patel. He hammered a four and a six with absolute elegance in the over, which was lauded immensely.
Shanaka also went after Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the next 02 overs. However, it seemed that he had made Harshal Patel his target for the evening. His partner, Nissanka also joined the party in those 02 overs wherein he scored runs all over the place.
The last over was a much-needed one for the Sri Lankan cricket team. They were 160 for the loss of 05 wickets at the end of 19 overs. Harshal Patel got the opportunity to finish things for India. But it was a bad day for him at the office. Shanaka showed no mercy on Patel and he went after each delivery. Shanaka continued with his tactical shot playing manner, with a pinch of aggression.
He slammed 02 huge sixes and 02 boundaries off the last over and enabled his team to post a competitive total of 183 runs on the board. Dasun Shanaka remained unbeaten on 47 runs in just 19 balls. The Twitterati could not be less awed with such a knock from the skipper and poured down their emotions in large numbers. Interestingly, amongst the fans, we had Indians praising the Sri Lankan skipper as well. Let us take a look at some of such tweets below:
