IND VS WI: This Players will Play All Five T20I Matches against West Indies

IND VS WI: The limited-overs tour against the West Indies will take Team India to the Caribbean. To prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November, the Men in Blue will play three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals.

India is currently engaged in a three-match One-Day International series against England in their backyard. The series is currently tied at 1-1, with the final match scheduled for Sunday (July 17) at Old Trafford in Manchester.

West Indies defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in the T20I series but were thrashed 3-0 at home by the Tigers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named a second-string squad for the three One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

Senior players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant have rested for the Caribbean tour’s ODI leg.

Shikhar Dhawan will captain India in the one-day international series, with Ravindra Jadeja as his deputy in the 16-man squad. Rohit will return to lead the T20I side, with Hardik and Pant joining him in the Caribbean’s shortest format.

The first T20I will be played on July 29 at Trinidad’s Brian Lara Stadium before both teams travel to St Kitt’s for the second and third matches on August 1 and 2, respectively.

The final two Twenty20 Internationals will be played in Florida, USA. Consider three Indian players who will compete in all five T20Is in the Caribbean.

The five Twenty20 Internationals against the West Indies will provide the best opportunity for the Indian captain to rediscover his form ahead of the Asia Cup 2022.

After winning the bilateral T20I series against New Zealand (3-0), West Indies (3-0), and Sri Lanka (3-0) at home, Rohit is expected to lead the team and extend his record as Indian captain. The recent 2-1 victory in England was another feather in his cap.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya hit 51 off 33 balls, including six boundaries and a six, to record his first fifty in T20Is in Southampton. Pandya also had his best bowling figures in the competition after dismissing Dawid Malan, Livingstone, Jason Roy, and Sam Curran.

The 28-year-old has been in excellent form since leading Gujarat Titans to their first IPL title in 2022.

Pandya is a virtual certainty for India to play in the T20 World Cup in Australia. So, the team will use him in every game leading up to the big event.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

After nearly a decade of international cricket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is making his experience count. In the second innings, Bhuvneshwar Kumar used a developing in-swinger to dismiss Jos Buttler. He finished 1/10 from three overs as India won by 50 runs and took a 1-0 series lead.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished with 3/15 in the final T20I at Trent Bridge. In Cuttack, he bowled a brilliant spell of 4/13 from four overs against South Africa.

Given that he was left out of the ODI squads for both the England and West Indies series, the 32-year-old can play more T20I matches on his way to the T20 World Cup in Australia.
