POST MATCH TALKS

Steve Smith(Australian captain) said, “Obviously we got ourselves into a good position at the start and then we just let things off a bit. MS and Hardik played really well. The new ball was actually stopping on the wicket, and some were skidding on. I thought they (the Australian bowlers) bowled really, particularly with the new ball. I thought we were good with the new ball today. I guess it worked with the new ball today. Was quite a tough wicket today. We probably went away from our plans a bit early today.” Definitely, Australia had a hard time playing with two balls. With the game almost turning to a T20 match, the Australian players lost many wickets in the start. Moreover, Australian batsman faced a rough time understanding the spin caused by the new balls. In addition, left arm Indian spinners showed a fantastic game with their controlled spin.

AUTHOR’S TAKE

Overall, the match came in favor of India through their exceptional bowling. This time middle order batsman saved the game for India. The bad performance of starting line-up of India can prove to be a threat for them in this series. Moreover, this match showed that middle order batsman had certainly got their back.
