Barcelona presidential election is on the doorstep and reports claim that club legend Andres Iniesta will return to Camp Nou. Barcelona slowly returning to their previous path of winning. However, they are gaining the rhythm in La Liga after some struggling period since the start of the season. Many unnecessary things took place in the club through its management or else players transfers.
Catalonia changed a lot after last season’s defeat against Bayern Munich in the UCL semifinal. Further, they changed the manager and appointed Ronald Koeman as their new head coach. Lack of transfers took place in the summer due to low financial support.
Instead of working on the what club needs, president Josep Maria Bartomeu ignored those things and did needless things in the club. In the end, Barca fans made the strikes outside the Camp Nou and Barcelona’s office and ask him to leave the presidentship of the club.
In between, he resigned in October and the new president is elected for short period i.e till the end of January. Till then no transfer activities along with a new plan for the club’s development took place on the Spanish side.
Moreover, two front runners for Barcelona’s presidential election candidates Victor Font and Joan Laporta catches the media’s eyes. Both of them are in the limelight because of their press conference and announcement related to the elections.
Both of them had revealed their plans before i.e what they will work on if they got elected as Barcelona’s president. Font reveals to bring back Pep Guardiola at Camp Nou and hoping to tie up with Lionel Messi in the coming summer till the end of his career.
Barcelona legends will return to Camp Nou:
On the other hand, Joan Laporta disclosed that he will bring back Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, according to a report from the Diario Gol. While talking Laporta confirmed his plan of bringing club legends as he had the experience of handling the club before.
He told that Iniesta will be the next coach of Barcelona. So fans are wondering should Laporta should choose Xavi or Iniesta as the next coach. As Xavi had the experience of managing the club from Qatar and Iniesta continued his play with the Japanese club Vissel Kolbe.
He told that recently Andres Iniesta is injured now and ruled out from the Vissel Kolbe for the next four months. After then, he will reach 37 and might retire from the football. So his return to Camp Nou will help a lot to Catalonia side.
But bringing Xavi will be more sensitive due to his coaching experience. Whereas, reports also cleared that they will push Iniesta towards the junior team and later promote him to the senior team management.
The vision of bringing legends to the club and clinching the Catalans at the top once again like Pep Guardiola’s period. Pep Guardiola’s come back to Camp Nou is not yet fixed so Laporta searching for the other best players to get back on the Camp Nou side.
Still, he is not elected as the president of Barcelona then also he revealed all his plans. Because he is favourite for all of the others and had more chances to seat at the president’s chair. Hence, will come to know about it after the election at the end of January.
