Chelsea are ready to start their title defense in Europe. The new third kit of the Blues focuses on the ‘pride and spirit’ of London and that is dedicated to the top stage competitions of Europe.
The American fashion giant Nike came up with another stunning design for Chelsea. The new design for the third kit focuses on the streetwear fashion of London. The bold color pattern of green and black shades aligns with Nike’s ACG brand.
Nike has been using the same dark shades frequently for designing the kits. The kit is using recycled polyester that reduces Carbon emissions and Nike is continuing its ‘Green’ mission in the industry.
The design got wide acceptance amongst the fans of the Blues and according to the statement from the club, the third kit figures out the youthfulness of the squad. Chelsea got a good squad depth for the season as Thomas Tuchel is good at the management of young talents.
A closer look
Green, black and Crimson are the color patterns for the new third kit of Chelsea. The crimson appearance represents the vibrancy of the young squad. The ‘Pride of London’ logo is printed inside of the jersey. That reflects the legacy and tradition of the club in the new environment.
“As Chelsea aim to add further honours to the Champions League title we won last season, the club’s 2021-22 third kit is reflective of a modern era for the club, characterized by youthful energy and everything that represents.
“The green and black has long been associated with statement Nike outerwear pieces, the crimson adds vibrancy and that pop of colour is reflective of the club’s youthful energy”, Chelsea stated after the launch of the kit. (Daily Mail)
Hakim Ziyech, Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic featured the kit launch. Some of the comments from fans went viral on social media. Seeing Ziyech in green shade resembles his Ajax shirt of the past. Chelsea posted images of their stars wearing the new shirt.
Season plans for Chelsea
Chelsea started the season with a title. The European champions defeated the Europe League Champions Villareal to seal the UEFA Super Cup title. The domestic campaign also kicked off on a positive note for the mighty blues of West London.
The German head coach is prioritizing the Premier League crown this season. They had a good summer transfer window this year. The relaunch of Belgian ace Romelu Lukaku at Stamford Bridge added more power to the attacking line of Tuchel.
After the stunning wins against Crystal Palace and Arsenal, Chelsea are preparing for the Merseyside test. Thomas Tuchel needs to address Jurgen Klopp on Saturday as both sides are equally equipped with top talents.
