With the recent 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona, Real Madrid are in crisis. With plenty of stars expected to leave the Bernabeu soon, Inter Milan are set to chase after this Real Madrid star.
Dark clouds and tough times are hovering the Santiago Bernabeu right now. With no replacement of Cristiano Ronaldo and Julien Lopetegui sacked, it seems Madrid is in crisis. With replacement manager yet to be announced, it seems there are players keen to leave the European Champions. According to recent reports, Inter Milan look set to revive their interest in this Real Madrid player.
Inter Milan will revive rnterest in Real Madrid’s Luka Modric in January. The Nerazzurri are close to appointing former Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta. Real Madrid’s Luka Modric will be on their radar during January. Inter remain big admirers of the Croatian. It is expected that Beppe’s arrival will help to lure Modric. Beppe Marotta during his time at Juventus, lure Cristiano Ronaldo to the Old Lady. It is expected that he may lure Modric to San Siro.
The San Siro club tried to sign the Croatia international in the summer. Real Madrid informed Inter the 33-year-old was not for sale. The 33-year-old was a driving force behind Croatia’s runner-up finish at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while he also won a third successive UEFA Champions League with Los Blancos in May.
Modric won this year’s best footballer of the year and is aiming at the 2018 Ballon d’Or. The playmaker is in his seventh season with Real but has only 20 months left to run on his contract. It means that the winter and summer transfer windows of 2019 may be Real’s last opportunities to offer a contract to Modric. The interest in Modric means Real may lose another of their high-profile stars to Serie A.
The San Siro side might be keen to land Modric but it seems Modric is in no hurry to leave Madrid. Modric in August expressed his intention to stay at the Bernabeu, so it will be tough for Inter to sign him. Real Madrid also abort the negotiations with Inter regarding the Croatian in summer. So if Inter have to sign Inter they either have to pay hefty fee or sign him on a free transfer when his contract expires.
