Indian Twitterati was not happy with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)for releasing the song on its official Twitter handle.
Karnataka is fighting a long battle to avoid Hindi imposition. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore drew criticism from all quarters for using Hindi in their new theme song. Twitterati expected RCB to use the local language ‘Kannada’.
RCB itself represents Karnataka having a rich cricketing history. But, they made a huge mistake by releasing the anthem which involves unnecessary use of Hindi. Nobody really saw this coming from this IPL franchise.
For the unversed, there has been a misconception that Hindi is the national language of India. No, Hindi is not India’s national language. The majority of the people may have accepted it as the national language but it is surely not.
It should be noted that there are more than 20 official languages in India and Hindi is just one of them.
Here’s how Twitterati reacted to RCB’s new song
Banglore fans were absolutely livid with their franchise for using Hindi in their new theme song. A section of the fans told Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise to learn from Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab.
CSK uses Tamil in their theme song and Kings XI Punjab uses Punjabi. These two franchises used their local languages to capture the hearts of the locals. After listening to the new theme song, a majority of RCB fans in Karnataka took to Twitter to vent out their frustration.

RCB look to make a bold statement
Royal Challengers Bangalore has long been criticized for not winning the title for twelve seasons. RCB has made it to the finals on eight occasions but failed to lift the trophy.
The now-defunct Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Banglore in IPL 2009, 2011, and 2016 respectively.
However, Banglore captain Virat Kohli believes that they would make a serious bid for the title, given their well-balanced squad. Having managed to cover all facets of the game, RCB will be looking forward to making a strong statement in the thirteenth edition of the IPL.
There are lots of expectations from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers this season. Talking about the upcoming season, RCB will kick-off their IPL campaign against David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, September 21 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter of the IPL. He has scored five hundred to his name. His four centuries came in IPL 2016, a season where he played a big part in steering RCB to the final.
Kohli is also the only player with the highest number of runs in a single season. RCB captain scored 973 runs in IPL 2016, a staggering record which still stands firm.
