IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans are one of the franchises that will make their debut in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. GT management retained Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill ahead of the auction.

Gujarat Titans retained Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan for INR 15 crore each. GT purchased the former KKR player Shubman Gill for INR 8 crore. Hardik Pandya will lead the Gujarat-based franchise from the front for the next season.

As many as 70 games will be played across four venues namely Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

On the other hand, the venues for the playoffs were not decided yet. Gujarat Titans will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants in their first game at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra feels there is an issue with Gujarat Titans’ batting unit. The former KKR player shared the video on his YouTube channel where he explained in detail.

The cricket analyst stressed the fact that there is a problem in GT’s batting department. Talking about the same, he cited that the top five batsmen are either unproven products or lack form and confidence.

Aakash Chopra opened up that Shubman Gill’s best is yet to come. With Jason Roy not part of the GT franchise this season, there are high possibilities that Gill might open with Matthew Wade, according to Chopra.

Chopra further added that there is an area of concern at No.3. He said that GT can try with Vijay Shankar, Wriddhiman Saha. Chopra said he doesn’t think of any other option at No.3.

The former KKR player also added that captain Hardik Pandya must bat at No.4 else it would be a mistake. It will be quite interesting to see how GT goes about their business in the next season.

“There is a problem with the batting. Shubman Gill as opener is fine. Gill’s best is yet to come and I think it will be for Gujarat Titans. I think with Jason Roy gone they will open with Matthew Wade. They have picked Rahmanullah Gurbaz, but I think they will go with Wade.
