IPL 2022: Dinesh Karthik has been one of the top-notch performers for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.
The veteran wicketkeeper-batter unleashed his true colours in the middle-order. He scored runs at the rate of knots and took the attack to the cleaners when it mattered the most.
RCB largely benefitted from his services in the group stage. Faf du Plessis and Co finished fourth on the points table as they managed to win eight games and lost the rest of the six games.
After that, RCB went a step ahead by beating Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator clash at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Faf du Plessis and Co won the game by 14 runs.
They will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier today at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winner of this fixture will take on Gujarat Titans in the final on May 29 at the same venue.
Dinesh Karthik has played all the 14 games for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He scored 324 runs at an impressive batting average of 64.80 including one half-century to his name.

Meanwhile, veteran RCB wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been reprimanded for his behaviour on the field against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.
The veteran was reprimanded for using foul language in the first innings. The incident happened during the fourth ball of the 20th over of RCB’s innings.

Dinesh Karthik was looking to score a boundary or a six in the fag end of the overs as RCB touched the 200-run mark. However, he ended up wasting two deliveries.
Avesh Khan got the better of Dinesh Karthik by keeping in him. He bowled two good deliveries before Karthik lost his cool and uttered some swear words in frustration.
The video clip of RCB player losing his cool has gone viral on the internet. As per the reports of InsideSport, the official report reads, “Mr. Karthik admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction”.
