Pat Cummins has played five games this season where he scored 63 runs including a lightning fast half-century against Mumbai Indians. Apart from that, he took seven wickets to his name.

The Australian Test captain has left the team’s bio-bubble camp and headed towards Sydney. He has also been rested for the overseas T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting next month.

However, he is expected to return in full swing for the ODI and Test series against Sri Lanka. Cummins’ injury is not that serious. As a result, he would recover within a couple of weeks.

His absence is indeed a big blow to KKR. Although KKR are determined to make it to the playoffs, they still have a mountain to climb to crack the top four spot.

They will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow. After that, they will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the next fixture. It would be quite interesting to see how KKR would respond in the next two key fixtures.
