IPL 2022 LIVE: Royal Challengers Bangalore has had the most thrilling journey in this edition of IPL. Their qualification for the playoff depended on the match between Delhi and Mumbai. With Mumbai’s win against Delhi, Bangalore ensured their place in the playoffs.
With Bangalore’s win in the last League match, their star batsman Virat Kohli gained his form back and scored 73 runs, which bagged him the Man of the Match award.
This was Kohli’s second 50 in IPL and was wanted by fans and the team for a very long time. With Kohli back in form, Bangalore has got a very strong point for the playoffs.
Bangalore will face Lucknow Super Giants as the first eliminator of the playoffs. The team that will lose this match will be eliminated and the team winning will have to play the second qualifier.
IPL 2022 LIVE: Good runs in powerplay required for big targets
Royal Challengers Bangalore have a very strong top order with Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis opening the batting lineup. Former Australian player Brad Hogg is disappointed with Faf du Plessis’s strike rate in powerplay.
On Hogg’s YouTube channel, he said, “Du Plessis strikes at 104 in the powerplay and that puts Kohli under pressure at the other end, who has just found his touch but is not at his best yet.”
Du Plessis will have to keep this in mind and will have to shape his innings accordingly. They will have to score big runs as Lucknow Super Giants have some very good Batsmen who are in very good form right now.
LSG will have to get rid of the top order as soon as possible because Maxwell is very good with spin and if he comes in middle overs, he can be destructive, added Hogg.
Opening pairs will have to play crucial knock for both the teams
Both Lucknow and Bangalore have a very strong opening pair. Like Du Plessis, even Rahul has a slow strike rate in the power play. KL Rahul is the second leading run-scorer in the IPL. He will have to get runs in the power play so that he can score big.
Quinton de Kock is in very good form and with the help of Rahul, they both can anchor the innings very well. The Giants are very good at batting in death overs. They can easily score 40 to 50 runs in the last 4 overs.
Bangalore, on the other hand, does not have a strong death bowling and concedes massive runs in the death overs. They will have to find a solution for this in order to win this game.
It will be very exciting to watch the encounter as both the teams have some of the biggest batsmen in the league and they are in a very great form currently.
