IPL 2022 ORANGE CAP: IPL is the most-watched T20 tournament in the world. The group stage fixtures of this season’s IPL have come to a close recently.
The four stadiums in Mumbai hosted the group stage fixtures. They are none other than Wankhede Stadium, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune), DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore. Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad are the existing franchises.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are new additions to the league. Earlier, Mumbai Indians failed to qualify for the playoffs.

After that, Chennai Super Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs. The likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Gujarat Titans became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore also qualified for the playoffs. RCB knocked LSG out of the competition in the Eliminator at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

IPL 2022 ORANGE CAP: ABOUT THE UPCOMING MATCH – RR VS RCB
Earlier, Gujarat Titans got the better of Rajasthan Royals in the first qualifier and booked their place in the final. Rajasthan Royals will have another chance to redeem themselves.
They will take on Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier on May 27. The game will kick off at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Rajasthan Royals won their first title by beating Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. Since then, they didn’t win another title. However, it is good that they have qualified for the playoffs. They have a chance to win their second title.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the few teams who are yet to get hold of the championship ever since the start of the IPL. RCB got the better of LSG in the Eliminator and will take on RR in the second qualifier.

Matches
IPL 2022 will include a total of 74 matches, including the playoffs and final. The competition began on March 26 and ends on May 29 with the final. A mega auction was held before the competition due to the addition of ten teams. As a result, all of the teams’ squads for IPL 2022 have undergone significant alterations.
Venues
The group stage games of the IPL 2022 were held in Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and MCA International Stadium in Pune. Each of the two stadiums, Wankhede and DY Patil hosted 20 matches.

The orange cap was established when the IPL began in 2008. It was given to the player who scored the most runs during the tournament. The orange cap holder will change during the season.
The person who finishes first in the run chart at the end of the season will receive an award in the replica of the orange cap, as well as ten lakhs in prize money.

The Orange Cap is awarded to the season’s leading run-scorer. During the season, the batsman who scored the most runs in the competition would wear the Orange Cap on the field.
