IPL 2022: The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League is just around the corner. The tournament is less than 8 days away from getting underway.
The IPL extravaganza kicks off on March 26 and ends on May 29. CSK will cross swords with KKR in the tournament opener at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The upcoming season is going to be a ten-team affair. It will see all 10 teams battling it amongst themselves, in what will truly be a competitive season this time around.
The two new teams are none other than – Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. The other eight existing teams include the likes of CSK, MI, RCB, DC, SRH, RR, PBKS and KKR.
Captains are expected to play a big part in the next season. They will be looking to bring the best out of their teammates. Besides captains, even vice-captains are also expected to get involved in a grand scheme of things.

Jos Buttler is one of the players who has tonnes of experience as far as the shortest format of the game is concerned. The right-handed batsman has all the potential to serve as Sanju Samson’s deputy in the next season.
David Warner has plenty of experience as far as the leadership role is concerned. Under his leadership, Sunrisers lifted their maiden title in IPL 2016 season. He can offer valuable tips of skipper Rishabh Pant in the next season.
Dinesh Karthik served as the Kolkata Knight Riders captain in previous years. Under his captaincy, KKR qualified for the playoffs once. He also has some leadership experience under his belt and he would help Faf du Plessis in the leadership department for RCB in the next season.
Shikhar Dhawan was expected to lead Punjab Kings in the next season. However, PBKS confirmed that Mayank Agarwal would be the skipper. There are more chances that Dhawan could be the vice-captain in the next season.
KL Rahul will lead the newly-inducted franchise in the next season. Manish Pandey can be KL Rahul’s deputy for LSG in the next season. He has earlier led Sunrisers Hyderabad for one game in the last season.
Rashid Khan is one of the most sought-after players in T20 leagues across the world. He can read the game well and can also take key wickets. The newly-inducted franchise roped him for Rs 15 crore and he could serve as the vice-captain for the next season.
