IPL 2022: Three players Lucknow Super Giants could target in the auction to better their starting XI

IPL 2022 LIVE: The fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League has finally come to an end. The two-month-long season which started on March 26 came to an end on May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

It was a fascinating season with two new teams entering the fold in the Indian Premier League. There was so much hype around the expansion of the IPL with the inclusion of two new teams.

The two new teams, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans did not disappoint us as they went on to put on an excellent performance. Lucknow Super Giants reached the playoffs while Gujarat Titans lifted the IPL trophy.

Gujarat Titans went on to win the IPL trophy in their maiden IPL season. This is a luxury for teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals who have been here since the start but could not even lift the trophy for a single time.

While major teams like Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians played their worst season in the IPL. Mumbai Indians went on to finish at the last position with eight points in 14 games while Chennai Super Kings finished at the second last position.

They too could hold on to only eight points in 14 games. For other teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, this was yet another forgettable season like the usual times.

The England all-rounder will be a hot pick in the next IPL auction. Ben Stokes did not take part in the mega auction after England’s horrific loss to Australia in the Ashes series.

However, the England all-rounder will make a comeback next season. Lucknow Super Giants can remove their all-rounder woes by bringing in Ben Stokes.

Colin Munro

Colin Munro is a decent enough batting all-rounder who can play attacking cricket. Lucknow Super Giants could target him if they are not able to land Ben Stokes in the IPL auction.

Suresh Raina

It is likely that Suresh Raina will be picked up by any franchise next season. Franchises will want him in the dressing room given his experience and expertise in the game.
