They currently have a balanced team and would focus on plugging the few gaps. Before the upcoming auctions, the franchise would unveil a few new moves.
The franchise has been eyeing to be as wise as possible in the auction. They are really keeping their hopes high for the next year.
To that end, below is a list of four players that the Lucknow Super Giants may release prior to the IPL 2023 Auctions.
IPL 2023: Here Are 3 Predicted Players Who Might Be Released By LSG
1. Manish Pandey
In the IPL 2022 Auctions, Manish Pandey was selected for the No. 3 position. The Karnataka batter, though, was unable to make a difference. Deepak Hooda’s ability to play at No. 3 has led LSG to consider releasing Pandey. LSG would want to find some new talent in addition to trying to repurchase him at a discount.
Ayush Badoni and others had successful seasons prior. While LSG may decide to invest in a raw player based on Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022, Badoni may be given additional opportunities in the IPL 2023.

2. Kyle Mayers
One of the players the Lucknow Super Giants may cut before the IPL 2023 Auctions is Kyle Mayers. He was an unexpected choice made by LSG during the auctions.
He didn’t play in a single game, though, last year. Kyle Mayers is probably going to be released because Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis are already on the roster.
LSG is in serious need of a reliable middle-order left-handed batter. There are people like Rilee Rossouw and Ben Stokes on the list of possibilities. These two players may each command a sizable fee. Mayers might therefore be terminated to make room for the international slots.
3. Shahbaz Nadeem
Last year, Krunal Pandya hired Shahbaz Nadeem to fill in as his backup. Nadeem did not have a chance because Krunal was competent. Given that he hasn’t been in particularly good form in domestic cricket since then.
LSG may decide to release the player. If LSG needs a replacement for Krunal, they must look for an all-around player with a similar skill set. One possible name for the franchise is Shubhang Hegde.
The young man performed admirably in the most recent KSCA T20 Maharaja Trophy. He might also be inexpensive, allowing LSG to target the cricketer.
