Cricket analyser Akash Chopra claims that KXIP all-rounder James Neesham is not a match-winning player in IPL.
After the IPL match between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) vs Mumbai Indians (MI), former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra commented harshly on James Neesham’s performance. Which further turns into a word battle between both the cricketers.
In that Mumbai Indians (MI) batsmen totally busted on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during the first inning. While batting first Mumbai Indians (MI) scored 191 runs in the exchange of 4 wickets in 20 overs.
Skipper Rohit Sharma played the captaincy inning by striking a massive 70 of 45 balls. Pandya and Pollard ended the inning in the same manner by hiring 47 of 20 and 30 of 11 balls respectively. Whereas, only Cottrell was the effective and economical bowler from the KXIP side.
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) all-rounder James Neesham was the worst performer from the KXIP’s bowling department. Because MI batters hit 52 runs in his four overs. Therefore, they smashed him with the economy of 13 runs per over.
While chasing the terrific target set by the Mumbai Indians (MI), KXIP’s batting line up totally gets collapsed. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal scored average runs. But Karun Nair was off to pavilion by scoring zero runs. Pooran was the only fighter from their side.
All-rounder, James Neesham followed his role, as usual, he did in previous matches. Because he only scored 7 runs in 7 balls which was not expected from an all-rounder. As the team was in critical condition but the hopes from the all-rounders went in vain.
Akash Chopra targeted Neesham after KXIP vs MI IPL match
So while speaking on KL Rahul’s captaincy and team management role, Akash Chopra raised questions about their tactics. Further said that I do not understand why KL Rahul plays James Neesham. Because he is neither a match finisher, not a proper death bowler.
After this comment by cricket expert, one of the fan decided to share this news with James Neesham. Hence, he told this thing via his Twitter account by tagging him. Which turns into word battle between both cricketers.
Here is tweet:
In the reply to this tweet, James Neesham opens up about Akash Chopra’s T20 career stats. However, Akash Chopra played 21 T20 matches and scored only 334 runs with an average of 18.55 and a strike rate of 90. Therefore it is mentioned by James Neesham.
This battle didn’t end here and another fan asked him to accept his mistake and focus on his own performance. So while replying fan Neesham said, “Recently you have not been at your best” I’ve literally batted once since March. You idiots really jump on anything aye.”
Here is another tweet:
Henceforth, while responding to KXIP’s all-rounder’s tweet regarding Akash Chopra’s stats. He said, “Correct my friend. That’s why nobody picks me anymore. I get paid for doing something else. I’m glad that you don’t have an issue with my observations but with my cricket stats. Go well for the rest of the #IPL.”
Here is Akash Chopra’s tweet:
Overall, it will come to know about the change in James Neesham’s performance during their next fixtures against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 4th October. Because back to back three losses by CSK might come back strongly which might affect KXIP.
