The auction is all set to take place on the 20th of February, 2017 in Bangalore. The auction starts at 9:00 am IST and will be telecast on Sony Six. The Sony LIV app can also be used to stream the same.

How many players are being auctioned?

The BCCI has confirmed that 730 players have registered for the auction. There are high chances that the event will go one for another day as well. Given the spending policies as per last year, the clubs would see it through to day 2.

Which players are in demand?

Here we have compiled a list of few players who will be in maximum demand this auction.

  1. Jason Roy:

The explosive English opener has taken the English limited overs team by storm. In a year, he has radically transformed the way the English have started their innings. Often operating at a strike rate around 120-130, his aggressive approach will come in handy to any team he plays for. Chances are that Mumbai Indians will be bidding a huge amount for him if need be, given the need of an explosive opener. This man is surely slated to go for a high price.

  2. Ben Stokes:

Another English star, Ben Stokes has been another key figure in Eoin Morgan’s squad. The all-rounder has been a match winner for the three lions, often finishing games for them both as a batsman and a bowler. His recent performances against India have been praiseworthy. Apparently, he is held in high regards by none other than the man of the moment himself, Virat Kohli. Going by Kohli’s determination, it won’t be a surprise if Royal Challengers Bangalore go all out for him.

  3. Ishant Sharma:

Ishant Sharma is one of the most experienced Indian bowlers in the present day generation. The tall pacer has the ability to strike early, and get the openers. The only drawback though is his economy rate which can be a little expensive at times. Despite that, the bowler packs a punch of power and experience. A team like Kolkata Knight Riders can definitely go for the lethal bowler.

  4. Eoin Morgan:

The list of English players generating attraction doesn’t seem to stop. The Captain of the English team in limited overs(may soon take over as Test Captain), he is known for his attacking approach. The English team has consistently posted 300+ scores in ODIs last year while posting 170+ in t20s.  The man is known for his elegance, often compared to Roger Federer. The ever smiling and humble captain will provide additional leadership qualities which come in handy in nail-biting thrillers of the IPL.

  5. Trent Boult:

Trent Boult, the New Zealand spearhead who single handedly took out the opposition in World Cup 2015 is one of the best pacers in the world right now. The bowler was not retained for reasons other than his performances. He has not been in form in recent few months, but the fast bowler can rattle any batsman with his raw pace. His economy is pretty praiseworthy given the restrictions which support the batsmen nowadays. The player looks to go for a high price and teams will be battling it out for the star man.

With so much excitement, the auction is sure to be a huge hit.
