Manchester City signed Norweigian striker Erling Haaland at the start of the season after paying his release clause worth £51 million to his former team Borussia Dortmund.
At the point of this transfer, there were many questions regarding if he will be able to adapt to the English Premier League. Many football Pundits and fans failed to understand how Erling Haaland will be able to play in pep Guardiola’s setup.
Since then, Haaland has slammed all his critics and has been a sensation for Manchester City so far. The forward has got off to a very good start and has already netted 15 goals in the English Premier league. Additionally, he has scored 5 in the UEFA Champions League too. He even scored a hattrick against Manchester United in the recent derby.
After the exit of Aguero, for the first time, City have got a proper striker whose finishing is one of the best in the world. Overall Haaland has become a fan favourite among the Citizens within this short time.

Now Erling Haaland has already become one of the best players in the world. The forward is monitored by some of the best teams including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Till this it was normal. But when Haaland’s father told that his son wants to test himself in all the leagues of the world, it surely became a bit problematic for Manchester City.
Later it was revealed that Erling Haaland has a £200 million release clause in his contract which will be valid for teams outside of England from 2024. The amount will rapidly decrease in the following years.
This made the situation even more difficult for the Manchester City management. Manchester City however have previously sold many superstars who wanted to move out of the club.
So basically the problem for City is not about Erling Haaland moving to a new place. The problem is the constant rumours and news that can hamper the unity of their dressing room.
And this is the same thing that actually happened with his previous team Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking about the same, Sebastian Kehl of Dortmund told Sport Bild, “As much as we always loved Haaland and he was successful with us, in the end, he became a burden on the dressing room, the club and the whole environment.”
Spanish manager Pep Guardiola is one of the best man managers in the world. He possesses a strong character and has so far had a great track record of keeping the dressing room together. Now he obviously knows this risk and probably has already taken caution to keep his dressing room together.
