According to IM Vijayan, a former captain of the Indian national football team and holder of the Arjuna award, Kerala Blasters FC’s recent arrivals have provided the club with more confidence heading into the current season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL).
Ivan Kaliuzhnyi, Dimitrios Diamantakos, Apostolos Giannou, and Victor Mongil are some of the significant additions that KBFC has made in preparation for the 2022–2023 season of the Hero Indian Super League. KBFC has also brought in players such as Saurav Mandal and Bryce Miranda, to name just a couple of examples.
The offensive midfielder Kaliuzhnyi has already gotten off to a fantastic start and is now tied for the most goals scored in the current Hero ISL season. He has scored three goals in just five games.
Diamantakos, who has appeared in every single one of KBFC’s matches to this point, has scored once as well. He scored in Kerala Blasters’ most recent victory away from home, which was over NorthEast United FC.

In terms of their overall performance, the Kerala Blasters got off to a shaky start to the season. They now have a record of two wins and three losses from their five games played. Vijayan, on the other hand, is of the opinion that KBFC can feel optimistic about their chances of victory in upcoming matches because of the new players they have acquired.
The players that the Kerala Blasters have acquired have instilled an incredible amount of confidence in the team. According to Vijayan, who talked in an interview that was conducted exclusively for the Hero ISL, the season has only just begun. “More games are available. Let us pray that this endeavour will be fruitful.
In addition, Vijayan mentioned that Ivan Vukomanovic, KBFC’s head coach, has been responsible for the team’s substantial performance enhancements. The Serbian coach guided the Blasters all the way to the title game of the Hero ISL 2021–22 in just his very first season in charge.
As a reward for his hard work, Vukomanovic was given a contract extension for a further three years, which will keep him with the squad until 2025. “There is no question that the group is fortunate to have one of the league’s most talented coaches.” Vijayan explained that since Ivan has taken over, the game has reached a new level of difficulty.
