It Might Be Time for Arsene Wenger To Leave Arsenal

The majority of the Arsenal fan base believe that Arsene Wenger is not the manager he once was and should step down from his position at the club.

It’s that time of the year again when the “#WengerOut” becomes one of the most trending hashtags on Twitter and Gooners grow increasingly frustrated over their team’s disappointing run in the season. The fact that the hashtag has become an annual occurrence is one that delivers quite the blow to the hopes and dreams of a club and its fans.

Arsenal suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat from arch-rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The game was evidence to the fact that Arsene Wenger had been outplayed at his own game as Antonio Conte outsmarted the Frenchman’s tactics at every level and shut down Arsenal’s attack. The game showcased the brilliant tactical mind of Antonio Conte and how Wenger might not be the ultimate tactical genius he once was.

Chelsea looked strong right out the gate as Arsenal struggled to find their footing in the game. Wenger’s substitutions resembled more of damage control more than tactical replacements. Chelsea fans had a blast in the stands as they took numerous jabs at Arsenal and their manager throughout the game.

“Champions of Europe, you’ll never say that” is probably one chant dealt the heaviest blow to the Arsenal fans in the stands and the ones watching the game all around the world. What really crushes the Arsenal fanbase is that however toxic that chant may be, it might actually be true if Wenger were to stay on as Manager.
