Jamie Vardy : “Hello Arsene, I think I am ready to sign that contract with Arsenal now!!”
Arsene Wenger: “But Vardy, we want Mahrez now!!”
JV: “But Arsene, Why!! Why you do this!!?” *cries softly in a corner*
This unrecorded, unquoted and totally hypothetical conversation is exactly what must be going on in the minds of every Gooner across the globe at the moment as they look at the image of one of their main targets talking on the phone, after Leicester City suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on the opening day of the new Premier League season.
Riyad Mahrez was also seen on the ground, sitting dejectedly on the pitch, trying out some new “yoga poses” to reduce some of the stress and wishing he had moved to the Emirates, when he had the chance. Happens. Part of life. The best amongst us make mistakes at times. He still has a chance.
However it seemed that Danny Drinkwater, did not have enough “water” or “steam” rather in his engines to produce the same kind of performance that the Foxes showcased in the previous campaign. With N’Golo Kante making the smart move, it only seems that Vardy will not want to see this kind of expressions on his team-mates’ face any time soon. Too much confusion in one picture. Think-water!!
Further, Claudio Ranieri, the man who refused to celebrate the title till it was eventually won, might still have not celebrated the stay of Vardy. The Italian manager surely knows that anything is possible in this game and he is quite good at losing things, just when it seems that nothing can go wrong. Will he possibly lose half his squad in the next few days, as other clubs try to sign them?? Could be the case!!
This was a recent image of Ranieri expressing his happiness when asked about his opinion of Wenger and what he thought of him as a manager. What a guy!! He just loves the Arsenal boss!! Doesn’t he??
Well, whether Vardy stays at the KP Stadium or not, miracles just happen once in a blue moon and it does not seem that the moon is going to be blue this time, at least not Leicester’s for the taking. The Premier League champs started with a loss and this might be the best chance for the 29 year old England international to run away while he still can.
As we all know, the Englishman is quite good at running with the ball on the pitch. Maybe it’s time he ran to north London instead. Time to go to the bigger clubs, while you probably still can!!
P.S. : But we want Mahrez now!! Cheers!!
