Only a week after becoming the world’s No. 1 ODI bowler, Jasprit Bumrah has been surpassed by Trent Boult of New Zealand. Bumrah took eight wickets in the first two games of India’s recent one-day international series against England, but he missed the third.
Jasprit Bumrah now has 703 ODI rating points to his name. On the leaderboard, the right-arm fast bowler is only one point behind Boult Shaheen Afridi, Josh Hazlewood, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman remaining in the top five rankings.
Chris Woakes dropped to ninth place after missing all three One-Day Internationals against India. Mohammad Nabi benefited from it, climbing to eighth place. Woakes has also dropped one spot in the ICC ODI All-Rounder Rankings.
The England star has dropped to sixth place, with New Zealand’s Colin de Grandhomme taking his place in the top five. Following a stellar performance against England, India’s Hardik Pandya has risen to eighth place on the all-rounder’s rankings.
Jasprit Bumrah is not the only Indian to fall in the One-Day International Rankings
Following the conclusion of the series against England, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma both fell in the ICC ODI Rankings.
Kohli’s dismal run with the willow continued against England, as he lost his wicket cheaply in both ODIs. Rassie van der Dussen, meanwhile, smashed a match-winning century against England on Tuesday, July 19, at Durham’s Riverside Ground.
His century has helped him overtake Kohli in the ICC ODI batter rankings. The South African is third, followed by Virat and Rohit Sharma in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wingman Imam-ul-Haq continue to hold the top two spots in the ICC ODI batting rankings. Rassie van der Dussen has moved up to third place after scoring 134 against England in the first ODI.
Indian captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have dropped in points and are now ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. South African wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock is sixth with 780 points, while David Warner is comfortably eighth with 737 points. Shakib Al Hasan is the top all-rounder according to the ratings.
Hardik Pandya, an Indian bowling all-rounder who led his franchise Gujarat Titans to an IPL victory and then went on to impress for India, has made some significant gains.
Pandya has risen 13 places to enter the top ten list. With 242 points, the cricketer from Baroda is now ranked eighth.
