New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham is currently representing the Kings XI Punjab franchise for the ongoing thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates. The Kiwi all-rounder was given a chance to feature in the playing XI only in a handful of games so far.
Jimmy Neesham played just three games out of 8. He warmed the bench for the rest of the fixtures. It is loud and clear that New Zealand international cricketer’s performance has been far from pleasing. He neither did justice with the bat nor with the ball in the ongoing campaign.
Neesham scored just 7 runs in three games at a poor average of 7. His highest score for the team is also 7 runs this season. He leaked so many runs with the ball conceding as many as 105 runs in just 3 games. However, he managed to pick one wicket to his name.
Even though he picked up a wicket to his name, he was tonked to all parts of the ground by opposition batsmen. The all-rounder bowled 10 overs so far and didn’t bring the best out of himself. The 30-year-old has the worst economy rate of 10.50 this season where his best bowling figures read 1/40.
Neesham trolls Maxwell
Just like Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Maxwell hasn’t been performing well for Kings XI Punjab. Neesham was given just three games to play but Maxwell played all the eight games but his performance has been disappointing, to say the least.
Meanwhile, Neesham took a dig at Glenn Maxwell over a coke. Espncricinfo posted the image of Glenn Maxwell holding cool drinks or beverage cans where Neesham came up with a hilarious caption for Maxwell.
“When you are earning a bajillion dollars but still don’t wanna pay 8 bucks for a coke from room service,” Jimmy Neesham wrote while taking a dig at Australia and Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.
What’s next for Glenn Maxwell?
Glenn Maxwell scored just 58 runs this season at a below-par average of 14.50. He has faced just 61 balls this season striking the balls at 95.08. Maxwell who is known for the knack of hitting big sixes with ease hasn’t hit a single six so far.
This is indeed a shocking stat. He hit just 5 fours in this season. Maxwell did not participate in the previous edition of the IPL due to an injury. In 2018 IPL season, he failed to deliver with the bat. In 12 games, he managed to score just 169 runs at an average of 14.08
Australia all-rounder has been out of form so far and it will be interesting to see how to makes a comeback in the games to come. Any defeat from now on might as well put an end to Kings XI Punjab’s top-four hopes. Maxwell will have to start delivering or else he might be replaced.
