“I do not like seeing him at that level in his club”- Jordi Alba praises Spain star

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has praised Spain and Real Madrid midfielder Isco for his performances at club and country.

Ever since breaking into the first team under Zinedine Zidane, Isco has cemented his status as one of the world’s finest playmakers. He is now a fixture for Spain and at club level as well. His match-winning displays from midfield have won him several plaudits from across the world.

Ahead of their international friendly against Costa Rica, Jordi Alba spoke to the press about the magical Spaniard’s performances for both club and country this season.

Jordi Alba prefers Isco performing for Spain

In the press conference ahead of the Costa Rica clash, Jordi Alba praised his Real Madrid counterpart.

He said,”Even if he is an eternal rival, I do not mind recognizing him”. However, he also admitted his dislike for the midfielder’s displays for Los Blancos and said, “although I do not like to see him at that level in his club.”

Jordi Alba has heaped great praise on Isco.

The Barcelona defender prefers that Isco play at the highest level for his country, Spain. He further said on Isco’s excellent displays, “For the national team, yes.”

The Real Madrid midfield maestro has been a special player since his Malaga days, where he was awarded the claim of Golden Boy as well. Jordi Alba was quick to highlight how far he has come in the world of football.

About the 25-year-old’s current form, Jordi Alba said,“He has always played the same but now he is at an incredible level, one of the best in the world”.

The former Valencia full-back will be hoping to combine with the Real Madrid midfielder and nab a goal or assist to contribute to a victory for Spain.

Author’s take

With Barcelona eight points ahead of Real Madrid in La Liga’s standings, it is surprising to see how wary Jordi Alba is of Isco’s form. The midfielder is capable of producing special match-winning moments for Real Madrid and after the international break, Zidane will be hoping he can do just that to help Los Blancos reduce the deficit between their El Clasico rivals.
