Jos Buttler reckoned that Ben Stokes should be in consideration for being the greatest England cricketers of all time.
Buttler shared his thoughts after lifting the T20 World Cup Trophy on Sunday (November 13) against Pakistan, wherein Stokes hit a match-winning 52* off 49.
It was undoubtedly a perfect redemption story of Stokes, who could not help England win the 2016 T20 WC final, by conceding four consecutive sixes. The victory in the 2022 edition certainly reflects his perseverance and abilities as a player.
Batting first, Pakistan managed to post only 137 on the board, courtesy of a terrific bowling effort from England. Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/12.
In response, Pakistan produced a fightback to dismiss Alex Hales and Buttler in the powerplay. Nevertheless, Stokes steered the team into the right direction and sealed the chase with an over to spare.

Buttler thinks Stokes has been a true match-winner for England, and can take the pressure off other batters. He added that Stokes has been through all these tough situtaions, and knows how to handle and help the Three Lions prevail.
English skipper feels it was not a perfect innings for Stokes, but lauded him for staying strong in crunch moments.
“He always stands up in the biggest moments. We’re immensely lucky to have him, he’s one of the great players of English cricket and he can be in the conversation for sure (to be regarded as England’s greatest cricketer of all-time),” said Buttler.
Stokes tasted success as a leader in the Tests this year, with series victories against New Zealand and South Africa. Furthermore, the Three Lions managed to win a one-off Test match against India as well.
The 31-year-old will lead the English side in the three-match red-ball series in Pakistan next month.
