With the headline saying that Manchester United have signed someone from Atletico Madrid whos name also happens to sound like a certain Antoine Griezmann, for United fans this is to let you know that no, the heading is not wrong and it is Guzman and not Griezmann. Reports suggest that the Red Devils have managed to lure Guzman away from Atletico, he will be joining United’s scouting network next month. It is also reported that Guzman will head up United’s scouting operations in Spain as the former Atletico man has loads of experience.
He will be looking to lure the top talent in Spain to join Manchester United’s academy which is having a big shake up.
If the report is true Guzman follows Tottenham’s youth coach Kieran McKenna and Brazilian scout Sandro Orlandelli to Old Trafford in the last few days.
Tottenham’s youth coach Kieran McKenna and Brazlilian scout Sandro Orlandelli had also joined Manchester United’s scouting operations ahead of Guzman, and they’ll be working together to serve the academy.
The newcomers in the backroom are just part of an ongoing revamp at United’s youth academy.
Many young stars have made first-team appearances under former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and most of them showed great potential.
However, United’s under-age players are lacking and have been failing to live up to expectations on the pitch, so this is likely to change in the upcoming period.
