Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane thinks that the Serbian striker Luka Jovic is a star in making. Although he has scored just one goal so far this season, Zidane still believes in him. According to him, he will take over the throne from Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu in a few years.
Jovic was signed by the Los Blancos in the summer of 2019 after his exceptional performances for Frankfurt in Bundesliga. But he hasn’t had much to offer due to lack of playing time. Benzema’s extraordinary form has forced Zidane to keep the Serbian out of the starting XI for most of the current season.
The Spanish Super Cup is the best opportunity for Jovic to prove his worth.
Real Madrid will enter into this competition without the presence of Benzema, Bale, and Hazard. They have all been ruled out due to injury. Jovic could possibly line-up with the Brazilian duo Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo against Valencia in the semi-final.

Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press before their crucial tie against Valencia. When asked about Jovic’s situation, the Frenchman responded-
“Jovic is a kid who really wants to learn. He is the future. There’s a need to be calm with him as he is learning.”
Real Madrid has been troubled by injuries on numerous occasions this season. But Zidane is still confident about his squad depth. Lucas Vasquez, James Rodriguez, and Marcelo have traveled with the squad to Dubai for the competition. This seems to be a positive sign for the Los Blancos.
“We have a deep squad and the others can respond. Jovic is very good and he’s going to score a lot of goals. We’re backing him and we need to be calm with him.”
A win against Valencia will Zidane’s men through to the final where they will face either Atletico Madrid or Barcelona. Jovic’s fate at the club depends on Real’s performance in this competition. If they manage to win silverware without their first-choice attacking options, then Zidane will have to re-consider the role of Jovic in the squad.
