Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui is reportedly not interested to join English Premier League outfit Wolves as their next head coach.

Wolverhampton got a very tough start to their EPL season. Under their former coach Bruno Lage, they won only one out of their first eight matches.

Following this Bruno Lage was sacked and U18 coach Steve Davis and U21 coach James Collins took the charge. Meanwhile, the Wolves management started to find a new replacement for the vacant head coach role.

Wolves lost their first match under Davis and Collins against Chelsea last weekend by a scoreline of 3-0. With this loss, they are currently in the eighteenth position in the table having garnered only six points in their first nine matches.

Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui started the reason by being the head coach of Sevilla. In recent years, Sevilla has emerged as one of the strongest Spanish teams under the tutelage of Lopetegui.

So at the beginning of the season, it was thought that the Spanish side will continue their good form and get a start in their domestic league.

However, things turned out very differently. Sevilla got only one victory in their first seven matches in the league. This was clearly a very underwhelming start for the Spanish team.

So when Sevilla suffered a 4-1 loss against Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund at home, Lopetegui was released from his duties at the Spanish club.

Since then, the Spaniard rose as the primary target for the Wolves head coach position. With Jorge Mendes being Lopetegui’s agent, it was thought that they will easily be able to sign Lopetegui in a matter of a few days.

However, it seems like things did not unfold as they wanted. According to a report from journalist Guillem Balague, Julen Lopetegui has turned down the offer for the head coach role of Wolves.
