The German International has confirmed his move away from Wolfsburg to PSG
The attacking midfielder has given credibility to the rumors of him having held talks of a move away from the club during the January transfer window. Paris-Saint Germain are in prime position to bag services of the talented German forward. He had previously tried to force a move away from the club but the Bundesliga giants refused to play ball, mainly perhaps it seemed unwise to let go of the 23-year old only a year after bringing him in from Schalke.
The dirt sheets signal that the French champions are ready to cash in on the opportunity in January. However, Draxler’s statements beckon towards a more imminent transfer.
“I am in talks with some clubs, but there is no final decision as of yet,” Draxler was quoted as saying by Bild.
“We will definitely make a decision that is in everybody’s best interest – and this time we will make it together.”
Draxler, thus far, has had a less than stellar start to the season following the transfer saga, due to which, he was even dropped from the game against Bayern Munich in December.
“I thought I would not play again for Wolfsburg until the winter break after I was left out of the squad for the game against Bayern.
“But I just kept on giving my all on the training pitch. I owe that to the team. And the coach noted that I did not give up.”
Julian Draxler has showcased exceptional maturity and skill of standards the likes of which are very rare in players of his age. He had continuously been a valuable asset for Schalke for years and marked his arrival on the world stage. Draxler can prove to be the major key that PSG need to claim dominion over the Champions League as well.
