Jurgen Klopp has issued a fitness update on eight Liverpool players ahead of their Premier League match against Leeds United.
The Merseyside outfit host Leeds United in their next match in the English top-flight. At the pre-match press conference ahead of the game, Klopp provided a fitness update on eight Liverpool players.
Klopp said he expects Jordan Henderson to be fit in time for the match against Leeds. “With Hendo, we have to wait a little bit,” Klopp said. “It’s a knock, he was a bit stiff yesterday, had only treatment yesterday. So we will see how he will be today. I expect him to be OK, to be honest.”
Klopp also confirmed Thiago Alcantara is available for selection. However, he ruled Naby Keita, Joel Matip, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Arthur out of their match against Leeds United.

Providing updates on Thiago, Keita, Matip, Diaz, Jota and Arthur, Klopp said: “And Thiago is back. Naby not yet. Joel will not be back – he’s here training but rehab. You don’t have to ask about Diogo for a while and not for Luis for a while.”
Klopp also provided a positive update on Ibrahima Konate, stating the French defender is getting closer to regaining full fitness. He also confirmed that Konate will be available for selection against Leeds United.
Meanwhile, Liverpool head into the game against Leeds United on the back of their 3-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot scored the goals as Liverpool earned all three points.
The victory also confirmed Liverpool’s progression into the next stage of the competition. The Reds sit second in Group A with 12 points from five matches. They are three points short of group-toppers Napoli.
Meanwhile, Liverpool had suffered a shock defeat in their previous fixture in the Premier League. The Merseyside outfit travelled to City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest and suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the home side.
The defeat leaves Liverpool eighth in the Premier League points table. The Reds have 16 points from their 11 matches in the league this season. They have four wins, four draws and three defeats in the league so far in the 22/23 season.
Liverpool are 12 points behind table-toppers Arsenal, who have earned 28 points from their 11 matches.
