Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said midfielder Jordan Henderson’s injury did not look serious after the England midfielder limped off during their win over Ajax in the Champions League.
Liverpool took on Ajax in their fifth match of the Champions League 22/23 group stage and secured a 3-0 win. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot scored the goals for Liverpool as they sealed their place in the Champions League round-of-16.
Henderson was impressive for Liverpool against the Dutch outfit. He provided the assist for Salah, who broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute of the match. Henderson sent a delicious pass with the outside of his boot into the box and Salah dinked the ball over the Ajax goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
Henderson, though, was replaced in the 71st minute of the match after a clash of knees with Ajax’s Edson Alvarez. The England midfielder limped off the pitch as James Milner replaced him.

Speaking after that match, Klopp said Henderson should be fine, though admitted it was painful for the Liverpool midfielder. “I think so,” Klopp told reporters when asked if Henderson was fine.
“I was worried as well when I saw the situation because it was in front of me, but I think he thought he got knee on knee, so painful.
“A bruise, probably. Really painful but as far as I know now, nothing else and that should be fine.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s win over Ajax takes their point tally in Champions League Group A to 12 points from five matches. The Merseyside outfit have won four matches and suffered defeat in one in the Champions League so far this season.
Their defeat came at the hands of Napoli, who romped their way into a 4-1 win over the Reds in their Champions League 22/23 opener. And it is Napoli who top Group A, with 15 points from five matches.
Meanwhile, Liverpool sit eighth in the Premier League points table. The Reds have had a below-par start in the English top-flight this season, and they have 16 points from 11 matches.
Liverpool are 12 points behind table-toppers Arsenal, who have 28 points from 11 matches. Klopp’s men are also five points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United, who have 21 points from 12 matches.
Meanwhile, Liverpool host Leeds United at Anfield in their next game, in the Premier League.
