Jurgen Klopp Wins FIFA Best Coach Of The Year

The latest reports have claimed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has officially won the FIFA Best Coach for 2019 after a stellar season with the Merseyside club.

The German boss took charge of Liverpool back in October 2015 as he replaced Brendan Rodgers as the Liverpool manager. It has taken some time for Klopp to work his magic at Anfield but it seems like things are finally falling into place as he is starting to get a taste of silverware with Liverpool.

Last season, Klopp guided the Reds to the best ever season in the Premier League as the Reds notched up an unbelievable 97 points in the campaign which was the best ever since the club was formed back in 1892. But that was still not enough to win Liverpool the Premier League title as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City pipped Klopp’s unit to the Premiership by just one solitary point. However, if silverware is the currency in football, Liverpool hit the jackpot as they won the prestigious Champions League title in May after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final in May.

Liverpool suffered heartbreak in the Champions League final prior to last year as they lost to Real Madrid in the European tournament but after overcoming a fantastic Barcelona team in the semifinal this year it was all for Klopp to lose.

And Liverpool also managed to carry that strong momentum into the new season as they are the only team in England’s top flight to win six out of their six opening games in the Premier League. Although Liverpool lost the Community Shield to Manchester City on penalties, the Reds beat Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup last month to keep the trophies incoming at Anfield.

Klopp has been at the heart of it all for Liverpool as he has built this team from scratch and done some superb business as well in terms of recruitment. The 52-year-old won the Best Coach award ahead of rivals Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino and he was delighted with accepting the accolades.

Author’s Take-

Klopp deserves a lot of credit for what he has done at Liverpool since taking charge in 2015. He has built quite a monster of a team with the Merseyside club and they are clearly one of the best in Europe at the moment. It was not all smooth sailing for Klopp in the initial stages as he was unable to get past the final hurdle in the Europa League as well as the League Cup in his debut season but things are only looking up for Liverpool now as they are reaping the rewards of the hard work.
