Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni suffered an injury scare during the net session ahead of the 1st ODI against Australia on Saturday. The 37 year old picked up the injury while taking throwdowns from team support staff member Raghavendra. Dhoni, who was one of the first to hit the nets on Monday like all other players was spotted taking throwdowns from the Team India support staff member after a long batting session.
It was during the drill however that one delivery from Raghavendra kicked up and hit the veteran on his right forearm. Dhoni was in extreme pain immediately after getting hit and took no further part in the practice session ahead of the series opener on Saturday.

There has been no official word from the team management regarding the nature of his injury or whether the injury is serious enough to rule him out of the opener at Hyderabad. A final call is expected to be taken by the management in the evening.
In case Dhoni has to sit out, Rishabh Pant is likely to don the wicketkeeping gloves. The first ODI of the five match series will be played at Hyderabad which will be followed by the second at Nagpur on March 5 and the third, fourth and fifth at Ranchi, Mohali and Delhi on March 8, 10 and 13 respectively.
