Juventus ready to battle Barcelona for the signature of Chelsea attacker Willian.
Juventus are plotting a summer transfer swoop for Chelsea attacker Willian. Turin based club earlier made an inquiry about Willian in the summer and has since been closely following his situation.
The 31-year-old’s contract at the Bridge would end in the summer, a situation which has brought many European clubs knocking. Juventus would have to fight off clubs like Barcelona, AC Milan, and Tottenham, all of which seem interested in signing Willian.
Former Chelsea boss and now Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri looks to be the man to help Juventus secure Willian’s services. A known admirer of Willian, Sarri is allegedly plotting a reunion with the Brazillian. Willian’s contract expires at the end of the summer, meaning he could be snatched by Juventus on a free transfer.
Juventus monitoring Willian’s uncertain future at Chelsea
With a total of 18 appearances in all competitions, Willian has been a regular on Lampard’s squad this season. Despite this, Willian seems to be looking elsewhere for his future.
The 31-year-old has 6 months left on his contract but has continually refrained from agreeing on fresh terms with Chelsea. Willian recently turned down a one-year contract extension, suggesting that he might not be interested in staying at the Bridge anymore. Rumors have it that the Brazillian is looking for an extra year and a pay rise.

Although all the signs clearly point to the possibility of Willian leaving the bridge, Chelsea boss Lampard thinks otherwise. Speaking in the pre-game interview against Newcastle, Lampard voiced about Willian’s future at the club:
‘ Willian is not going anywhere! We know his contract is up at the end of the season and he is in conversations with the club which is still ongoing. There’s no news on that. He is certainly our player.‘
Despite Lampard’s insistence on Willian’s stay at the club, Chelsea’s recent £33.3million deal agreement with Hakim Ziyech of Ajax seems to say otherwise. The Moroccan is expected to join the Blues in July once personal terms have been agreed upon.
The Blues have also been reported to be interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho. If Sancho is successfully signed, combined with Ziyech’s arrival in July, there really might be no space left for Willian in Lampard’s team.
Recently, Willian insisted that the Blues had not yet offered him fresh terms, but Chelsea remain in talks with the Brazilian over his future.
