Juventus Enters Wilfried Zaha Transfer Race

Serie-A giants Juventus have entered the race to sign Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha from English Premier League club Crystal Palace. 

Wilfried Zaha started his football journey at the academy of Crystal Palace. The forward then graduated from the Crystal palace academy and was promoted to the main team. 

He played three years for the English side before joining EPL giants Manchester United. However, Zaha failed to cement his spot in the Manchester United setup. He was then loaned out to Cardiff City. 

The forward finally returned to Crystal Palace in 2014 on a season-long loan. The deal however was soon changed into a permanent one. In Palace, he recovered his form and became the most important player for the Eagles. 

Juventus Considering Wilfried Zaha Move

Now according to a report from the Standard, Serie-A giants Juventus are interested to sign Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer in the next summer transfer window. 

After dominating the Serie-A for over a decade, Juventus are currently going through a transition phase. They have failed to finish in the top three during their last two terms. Now the Bianconeri have got a very poor start to this season. 

Juventus have managed to win only six out of their first twelve matches. They have gathered twenty-two points and are currently in the eighth position in the table. Juventus’ performance on the European stage has been even worse. 

For the first time in their history, the Bianconeri lost five out of their six group-stage matches at the UEFA Champions League. This also includes a loss against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. As a result, Juventus have crashed out of the group stages of UCL. They will feature in Europa later in the season. 

Now Juventus management understands their situation very well. They want to sign more quality players in the upcoming windows to strengthen their squad. Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha’s current contract with Crystal Palace will come to an end, next season. The Ivorian forward is yet to sign an extension deal and might look to join a new club. 

This comes as a huge opportunity for Juventus who want to sign the forward. The report however further suggests that La Liga giants FC Barcelona have also joined the race for Zaha. Due to their financial problems, Barcelona are targeting many free agents for the next summer. 

Xavi’s side sees the 29-year-old forward as a very good option and will do their best to sign him. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Arsenal are also very much interested in the forward. So if Juventus want to sign him, they will have to move fast.
