Serie-A giants Juventus have made contact with the entourage of Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Odriozola.
Alvaro Odriozola started his football career at the academy of Real Sociedad. The defender then progressed through the ranks and was promoted to the reserve side of La Real.
Odriozola played four seasons for Sociedad’s developmental team before making his first team debut in 2017. The fullback then cemented himself as a starter in the Sociedad team. But then after one season, Odriozola signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid for a fee of €30 million.
He failed to secure a place in the starting eleven and was loaned out to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. Odriozola then won the UEFA Champions League with the Bavarians and returned to Real Madrid. The fullback plied his trade for Fiorentina in the last season.
Juventus Want to Sign Odriozola
Now according to a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Serie-A are interested to sign Spanish right-back Alvaro Odriozola from Real Madrid.
After dominating the Serie-A for over a decade, Juventus are going through a transition period. They failed to reach the top three in their last two terms. And the Italian side have got a very rough start to the ongoing season.
The Bianconeri have won only six out of their first twelve Serie-A matches so far. They have gathered twenty-two points and are in the seventh position in the Serie-A table. Juventus’ performance in the European competition has been even worse.
For the first time in their history, the Bianconeri lost five out of their six UEFA Champions League matches. As a result, they were knocked out of the UCL group stage and will take part in the Europa League, later in the season.
Juventus management understands their situation very well. They want to make a flurry of signings in the next few transfer windows to strengthen multiple positions and right back is one of them.Â
Spanish fullback Alvaro Odriozola has fallen out of favour in his current club Real Madrid. Daniel Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are making starts over him. As a result, he is looking to change his club for getting more playtime. Real Madrid are also looking to offload the right-back.
Now Juventus have finally made contact with Odriozola’s camp. It has been understood that if Juventus pay in the range of €15 million, they will be able to secure him. This is well within the reach of the Italian side. Securing him will give Juventus a lot of defensive stability.
The Bianconeri will now face Inter Milan in their next match.
