Juventus Keeping Eye on Rodrigo de Paul Situation

Serie-A giants Juventus have grown a recent interest in Argentine midfielder Rodrigo de Paul who is currently playing for la Liga outfit Atletico Madrid.

Rodrigo de paul joined the youth setup of Racing Club at a very early age. The midfielder then graduated from the Academy of Racing and was promoted to the main team.

De Paul played two seasons for the Argentine club and then joined la Liga outfit Valencia. He failed to consolidate his place in the Valencia team and spent half a season with his former club Racing on loan.

The midfielder was signed by Serie-A club Udinese in 2016. The Argentine then gradually became the best player of the Frulians and even made his debut for the national team. Finally, in 2021, Rodrigo de paul joined La Liga giants Atletico Madrid on a five-year contract.

After joining Atletico Madrid in 2021, Rodrigo de Paul has failed to stamp his authority at the Wanda Metropolitano. He clearly did not fit into Diego Simeone’s plans.

The 26 years old had a very frustrating last season and is again not having the best of the times this time too. So it has been understood that if the same pattern continues, Rodrigo might find himself in the transfer market as early as next summer.

Now, according to a recent report from Calciomercato, Juventus are keenly monitoring the situation of Rodrigo de Paul in Atleti. If an opportunity arises, the Binaconeri will want to secure the midfielder next summer.

After a decade of dominance in the Serie-A, Juventus have failed to finish in the top three in the last couple of seasons. Even this time around, they have got a very bad start. The Bianconeri have lost only won three of their first nine matches and are currently in the ninth position in the table.

On top of that, they have lost two of their first three UEFA Champions League matches. They are on the verge of getting knocked out from the group stage of the premier European competition.

Juventus management understands the situation very well. Hence they want to bolster their squad with the arrival of multiple players in the upcoming windows.

Despite his poor form with the club, Rodrigo de Paul is one of the best performers in Argentina’s national team. The midfielder played a key role in the Copa America victory and also has been very good in recent friendlies.

He surely has enough qualities to be successful with a big team. Hence if Juventus can secure him, it will be surely a great signing for the Bianconeri.

Apart from Juventus, AC Milan is also very interested in the midfielder. So if Atleti decides to sell him, we can expect a transfer battle between the two Serie-A giants.
